We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, update your profile, or communicate with us. This may include:

Name and email address
Physical characteristics (height, weight, age, gender)
Fitness goals, experience level, and equipment availability
Workout history and exercise preferences
Health data from Apple HealthKit (steps, active calories, walking distance) — only with your explicit permission

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve our services
Generate personalized workout plans using AI (OpenAI GPT-4o)
Track your progress and adjust recommendations
Send you service-related communications
Analyze app usage to improve the user experience (via PostHog analytics)

3. AI-Generated Content

Tex Fitness uses OpenAI's GPT-4o model to generate workout plans. Your fitness profile data (goals, experience, equipment, focus areas) is sent to OpenAI's API to create personalized training programs. OpenAI does not use this data to train their models (per their API data usage policy). No personally identifiable information (name, email) is sent to OpenAI.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS) with Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring that only you can access your own data. All data transmission is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

PostHog — Privacy-friendly analytics
Apple HealthKit — Activity data (opt-in only)

6. Your Rights

Access your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings > Delete Account)
Withdraw consent for HealthKit data access at any time
Opt out of analytics

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained.

8. Children's Privacy

Tex Fitness is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app.
